Question:
Describe about the Personal and Public Health.

Answer:
Summary
The chosen cardiovascular disease is Myocardial infarction (MI) which is commonly known as heart attack. This disease is often referred as acute in nature due to sudden change in flow of blood to the heart in humans. Myocardial infarction is very serious and life-threatening condition which can cause death. The cause of this disease is blood clot. The common symptoms of this disease are chest pain and heart burn (Lopes et al., 2016). This disease occurs to one million people per year. The Myocardial infarction disease mostly occurs in elderly people aged over 50 years and above. The young men are prone to Myocardial infarction disease three time more than young women. People with history of Myocardial infarction disease are also prone to this disease more often. The Myocardial infarction disease is also genetically inheritable to offspring. The cultural beliefs of Myocardial infarction disease among people are different from each other. Elderly people over aged 50 years and above believe that their old age is the main reason behind the Myocardial infarction disease. They believe that death is determined by God and thus this disease has occurred due to old age. The young people believe that due to unhealthy lifestyle and stress the Myocardial infarction disease occurs. They also believe that genetically they have inherited Myocardial infarction disease from their elders. Women beliefs their husbands do not help them in household chore that is why they suffer from Myocardial infarction disease. These aspects affect the treatment and management of Myocardial infarction disease as people’s belief exists for long. Sometimes they do not want to come out from their belief and misconceptions. Old age people do not want treatment as they think that this is their fate decided by God and thus they do not want to get treatment. However, young men and women think their lifestyle is the reason behind Myocardial infarction disease and thus they think that living a healthy and stress free life will help them. The people with history of Myocardial infarction disease or genetically inherited believe that they cannot be cured as this is their fate. These are the aspects of their thinking and belief that they do not want to get treatment and management. The treatment and management of Myocardial infarction disease affects the society as the equipments used in treatment are expensive. The general symptoms such as loss of consciousness are often misunderstood by the people and they do not get treatment. The Myocardial infarction disease can sometimes contribute to legal implications. The Myocardial infarction is a disease as per common law however can be referred to as an injury. This can be a serious issue in workplaces where it may come under the compensation policy or may not come. The treatment and management of Myocardial infarction disease may cause complications to develop including heart block or disturbances of heart rhythms in patients (Heart Attack: Myocardial Infarction (MI) – Your Guide to Recovery | California Pacific Medical Center., 2018). Therefore, Myocardial infarction disease is a serious disease and it needs attention very early as it can cause death. The disease should also take into account the previous history and previous family history of patients to give proper treatment and management.
