Question:
Discuss about the Scoping of Nutrition Education Resources.

Answer:
Introduction:

The National Healthy School Canteen guidelines provide the national guidance as well training to the canteen manager. This helps them to make healthier foods for the school students in the school canteen. However, Peralta, Dudley and Cotton (2016) mentioned that there are regulation ranges that a school food service system needs to maintain. The school canteen managers need to maintain the food safety and the work health and safety. The ACT public school food and drink policy (2015) helps to develop the school food and drink policy to support the guidelines for the implementation of the National Healthy school canteen guidelines (2013) (Veugelers, 2015). This policy helps to provide knowledge of the food and nutrition to the school students and their parents. Example of the school canteen legislation and curriculum overseas is the school canteen legislation England. This legislation helps to educate the parents about the healthy eating and maintenance of the normal BMI range.
In Australia, childhood obesity became a big issue that can lead to various health issues. According to Peralta, Dudley Cotton (2016), 24 % boys and 21.5% girls were suffering from the obesity and overweight in 2010 in Australia. The school canteen legislation can help the kids to educate about the healthy eating behavior. Therefore, the schools need to develop some curriculum activities for the school students. The teachers needs to make the students aware about the strong effects of the physical activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid the health issues. In such circumstance, the parents also need to be aware about the healthy food habit of their children. For this purpose, an action plan strategy is made and recommendation is given.
